Val 409is a superb contemporary ski retreat with a heated outdoor pool in the heart of the Dolomites.

Perched at the edge of the ski slopes in Ortisei, Val 409marries seclusion with convenience. Its prime location provides a serene escape while remaining a short drive from vibrant village centers. Spanning three floors and 386 m², with 290 m² of refined living space. Owned and curated by ski world champion Isolde Kostner, the Vilaiet Сhalet embodies her passion for alpine living, blending luxury with an authentic connection to mountain life. The interior harmonizes traditional Ladin architecture—crafted from local timber and stone—with sleek, contemporary design. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a wraparound terrace showcase breathtaking views of the Dolomites’ ancient rock formations, a timeless backdrop that invites guests to savor every moment. The chalet’s name, derived from the Ladin words «vila» (hamlet) and «aiet» (moment), reflects its ethos as a sanctuary to cherish life’s fleeting joys.

The chalet sleeps up to seven guests across three elegantly appointed double bedrooms on the ground floor, each featuring en-suite facilities and direct terrace access. One bedroom includes an additional single bed, ideal for families. Configurations can be tailored to twin or double layouts, ensuring flexibility for groups.

The first floor unveils a striking open-plan living area, where high ceilings, a modern fireplace, and expansive windows frame panoramic mountain vistas. This space seamlessly integrates a state-of-the-art kitchen, a dining area with a wine cellar, and a lounge adorned with curated global décor. Glass doors open to the terrace, perfect for alfresco relaxation with a glass of prosecco. Evening meals, prepared by a private chef or the chalet team, are served in an ambiance of understated elegance, enhanced by the fireplace’s glow.

The lower level houses a 150 m² wellness sanctuary, complete with a Finnish sauna, steam room, Aquamoon waterfall shower, and snow shower. A relaxation area with loungers, a bar, and a TV offers post-ski rejuvenation, while a Technogym treadmill and massage room cater to active guests. Outside, a 10 x 4m heated pool—equipped with counter-current jets and nestled into the hillside—provides year-round swims amid snow-draped scenery.

Guests enjoy a private garage with an e-charging station and garden space for children to play. The chalet’s design emphasizes harmony with nature, using reclaimed materials and energy-efficient systems.
